I've been working with FlowFit 2 as part of my High Intensity day for a few weeks now. I began the progression by increasing volume, adding a Round per cycle and keeping Round time at 1:00 min. A couple cycles back I decided to cut volume and start increasing density by decreasing rest time. This made me start moving faster for one thing, in order to get as much rest between Rounds as possible. It also forced me to be more efficient by moving into each round with less and less recovery as Rounds progressed.
Today was 8 Rounds at 45 seconds per Round. It was, no exageration, a lung searer! I think you would be hard pressed to find a routine that gives you such a rich movement pallet along with this kind of potential for intense effort. And the cool thing about manipulating the different parameters of volume, time and density is that you can also make it more of a long, slow cardio routine if that is your goal. This is the first time that I have used FlowFit 2 as a cornerstone of my training like this and I must say that I am supremely impressed as I go deeper and deeper in to the Flow.
Like the original FlowFit, and the sandbag routine that I posted recently, SB6D, FlowFit is predicated once again on moving through 6 Degrees of Freedom. Used properly, this is one of the most powerful concepts that I have run across in physical training and can be applied to almost any tool. We will be exploring it in depth at the Singapore seminar. Come by and see us if you are in Australasia somewhere. I'd love to meet you!
So hit the 6 Degrees and find your Flow!
Cheers,
Adam
