Parkour is getting a lot of attention lately. It's a very raw and "primal" form of physical activity. But it is probably somewhat intimidating or inaccessible for the average person. Prasara Body-Flow Yoga presents all the same benefits (and then some), but is much more achievable for the average wellness buff. Check out this old footage of Scott Sonnon, progenetor of Prasara, going through a freestyle flow:
Even this may seem a bit crazy when you first watch it, but what you have to understand is that Coach Sonnon has devised tools that infuse his entire system and are designed to take you step-by-step along the path of physical mastery, no matter what your starting point. The place to start if you like Coach Sonnon's Prasara style Parkour is the Body-Flow DVD set. Follow your Flow, it always knows...

I'll second Adam's point that Prasara Body-Flow is absolutely accessible to anyone who wishes to pursue continued movement mastery.
Sonnon has an incremental method of teaching that allows the student to absorb a basic movement and then sophisticate it further and further.
I remember watching the above video a long time ago, maybe two years, and thinking "I could never do that." Now, I can do most of what Sonnon demonstrates in this video, the exercises are now just a small part of my training arsenal - and they no longer look "advanced." If a motor-moron like me can do it, you probably can too.
Be strong and be well.

John,
Thanks for dropping by and sharing that! Following Incremental Progression and Increasing Sophistication principles, anyone can do the stuff in that video. I've had men and women in their 60's doing some of that stuff in one session.
Cheers,
Adam

Ditto John on now having access to at least half of what is shown in the first half of the video (the table stuff I have only mucked around with a little bit now as of yet).
It is extremely liberating.
It was this video itself that brought me to CST and am happy to say that somehow I have managed to do most of it... and a lot of it came without actually directly practicing it.
Yeah.... guess what allowed that to happen?
Yep, daily intu-flow!
Just ask my students, have taught them backwards rolls... one of my 7 year old students has become addicted, I can't stop him doing them!

Damien,
Great input. I love what you are doing to encourage kids to Flow!
